Prof. Michal Tzur is a full professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tel Aviv University. She is a graduate of Tel Aviv University in economics and statistics, and holds a doctorate from Columbia University's School of Business in New York. She was a faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business and a visiting faculty member in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at Northwestern University.
She has published dozens of articles in her areas of expertise: optimization models and methods in the field of transportation and logistics, in particular vehicle sharing systems, innovative models for transportation and distribution, supply chain management, and humanitarian logistics. She serves as an editor or sub-editor in the prestigious journals Transportation Science and Service Science. In the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tel Aviv University, she served in the following positions: head of the undergraduate curriculum and head of the department. From 2015-2017, she served as the president of the Operations Research Society of Israel - ORSIS
