Michal Tzur is a full professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tel Aviv University. She is a graduate of Tel Aviv University in economics and statistics, and holds a doctorate from Columbia University's School of Business Administration in New York. She was a faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business Administration and a visiting faculty member in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Performance Research at Northwestern University.
She has published dozens of articles in her areas of expertise: optimization models and methods in the field of transportation and logistics, in particular vehicle sharing systems, innovative models for transportation and distribution, supply chain management, and humanitarian logistics. She serves as an editor or sub-editor in the prestigious journals IIE Transactions: and Naval Research Logistics. In the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tel Aviv University, she served in the following positions: head of the undergraduate curriculum and head of the department. From 2015-2017, she served as the president of the Israeli Association for Performance Research - ILB.
