BSc Materials Science and Engineering
About the Program
This is a dual Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering and in Chemistry. It is managed jointly by the Department of Materials Science and Engineering (Faculty of Engineering) and the School of Chemistry (Faculty of Exact Sciences). Graduates of this program will have an advantage in both research and development and in manufacturing industries. The program takes into account the global multidisciplinary character of this field. The areas of knowledge of our graduates are in the sciences (mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology) and in engineering (mostly mechanical, electrical, and chemical).
Objective of the Program
The objective of the program is to train future engineers and researchers with good foundations in basic science and with a high-quality scientific vision for wide applications, as required in the modern technological world.
Teaching and Research Laboratories
The curriculum includes a variety of courses in the Faculty of Engineering Laboratories, the School of Chemistry, and the Wolfson Applied Materials Research Center. Also, in the last year the students will conduct a final project, either in the university or in the industry. The advanced teaching and research laboratories at Tel Aviv University contain state-of-the-art equipment.
Employment Opportunities for Graduates
Graduates of the program will be able to integrate high-technology and industry: start-up companies, defense industries, heavy industry, pharmaceutical companies, implant manufacturing, energy, agriculture, and others. They will be integrated into a variety of roles including design, research, development, production, quality control, maintenance, failure analysis, technology management, and teaching.
