Trends In Commercial Robotic-Tech
Abstract:
In my talk you will not hear about the best algorithm or about the latest ROS 3.0 simulator, I will be talking about trends in commercial robotics through the discussion of several technologies / products / companies. The industry is maturing, the landscape is changing, and the challenges iRobot was facing 20 years ago while developing the Roomba, are very different than what today's robotics entrepreneurs are facing: • RaaS / HaaS Vs. Capital Equipment – Gecko, Bloomfield, Robee, & Advanced Construction Robotics. • Deep Tech Robotics – 2nd and 3rd Tier Providers – Hellbender, Space Precision Systems, & Cyberbee. • Where Does Robotics Ends & I4.0 Begins – Wirebot, Hebi, & Benedex
Bio:
Gal Inbar holds a B.Sc. & M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from Tel Aviv University and an MEI from Swinburne University of Technology. Since 1998, Gal has served in a variety of roles in tech startups and middle market industrial companies including business development, operation, finance, and general management. In 2015 Gal founded iCobots, the first Israeli distributor focused on cobots deployment. Since 2019, Gal is serving as the Executive Director for 412x972 Pittsburgh Israel Innovation, a business development service provider that focuses on cross-pollinating Israeli and Pittsburgh tech companies, in the domains of robotics, healthcare, and education. Gal serves as a board member and advisory board member in several startups, mostly in the robotics domain. On the Pro Bono front, Gal is a board member of the Reut Group, is deeply involved with TOM (Tikkun Olam Makers) Pittsburgh & TOM Israel, 412 Ability Tech, and TAU Alumni Mentoring Program.
