I am an Associate Professor at Tel Aviv University, where I head the Big Data Lab, and co-initiator of the undergraduate Data Science program, serving as its first Head until recently. My research focuses on developing AI models that leverage real-world data from smartphones and wearable devices to sense, understand, and shape human behavior, with a recent emphasis on health and wellbeing. I have authored over 80 peer-reviewed papers, edited books, and hold multiple patents, with my work widely cited (H-index 35, ~5,000 citations) and featured in outlets such as The New York Times, Harvard Business Review, and IEEE Spectrum. I have secured over $3.7M in research funding, taught and developed numerous courses, and supervised students and postdocs at all levels. My academic journey includes degrees from the Open University of Israel and Ben-Gurion University, a postdoctoral fellowship at the MIT Media Lab, and visiting professorship at Stanford’s Human-Centered AI Institute (starting August 2025). Alongside academia, I bring professional experience in the tech industry, entrepreneurship, and consulting, having co-founded several ventures including my current startup, Wizermed.
