Uri Erez was born in Tel-Aviv, Israel, in 1971. He received the B.Sc. degree in mathematics and physics and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Tel-Aviv University in 1996, 1999, and 2003, respectively. From 2003 to 2004, he was a Post-Doctoral Associate at the Signals, Information and Algorithms Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA, USA. Since 2005, he has been with the Department of Electrical Engineering-Systems, Tel-Aviv University. His research interests are in the general areas of information theory and digital communication. From 2009 to 2011, he has served as an Associate Editor for Coding Techniques for the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INFORMATION THEORY.
