AIAA Design/Build/Fly Competition

A team of students from TAU's Faculty of Engineering finished 4th in the AIAA Design/Build/Fly Competition at Tucson, Arizona, in which students are required to create their own unmanned radio-controlled aircrafts.

100 teams from all over the world registered for the competition, but only 13 completed all requirements – including the hardest of all: a short takeoff with maximum payload, followed by 3 laps. In this mission, our team came in first. This was only the second TAU team to take part in this annual event. Formerly, the best Israeli achievement belonged to the Technion, which participated many times, and finished 8th in one of the competitions. Congratulations to the project's supervisors, Mr. Shlomo Zach & Mr. Eli Katz, to team leader Elad Ventura and to the eight other members of the team.

Many thanks also to Prof. Yoram Reich, Dr. Tomer Bachar & Mr. Elisha Amrami.
