Ceremony: Fellowships for outstanding students
On Wednesday April 19 we held a special ceremony, awarding fellowships to students chosen to participate in the Excellence Program of the School of Electrical Engineering.
The Excellence Program, launched this year at the School of Engineering, aims to encourage and cultivate the value of excellence among the Faculty's students.
The Program is sponsored by KLA Tencor, which granted fellowships to outstanding students at the School of Electrical Engineering. Dr. Ami Appelbaum, President and CEO of KLA Tencor, spoke to the audience, and gave each of the outstanding students a certificate of honor.
The students were addressed by Prof. Ady Arie, Head of the Excellence Program, Prof. Yossi Rosenwaks, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Prof. David Mendlovic, Deputy Dean and Head of the Industry Relations Program. Ariel Raz, a PhD student at the Faculty, told the audience how he had turned his PhD research into a company named Unispectral, developing the next generation of digital cameras.
